Amy King | Nested Strategies

Amy King worked for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), one of the most progressive sustainability change agents, where she launched the USGBC Leadership Institute and spearheaded the communications, outreach and consulting support for a network of 80 USGBC chapter organizations.

She is the Founder of Nested Strategies, a boutique brand storytelling and content marketing company that helps small businesses, start-ups and non-profits best tell their story and use their authentic voice across multiple social channels. She has over 15 years of event, marketing, media and community engagement experience in the private and non-profit sectors.

In LA, Amy enjoyed time in the music and film industries as a producer, production manager and publicist of music videos and independent film festivals, where her clients included HBO, Vh1, Palomar Pictures and Sundance Film Festival. In Washington, DC, she helped launch and lead the American Film Institute (AFI) and Discovery Channel’s documentary film festival and conference, Silverdocs (now AFI Docs).

Amy's career began with two major advertising firms in New York – Grey Advertising and McCann-Erickson. She is a convener and a design thinker who thrives on maximizing relationships, building memorable, engaging social campaigns and bringing out the best in communities and organizations. She is a passionate volunteer for Angie’s Friends, a local animal rescue group and a sustainable design junkie.
